In August 1996 The Athenaeum Buildings in Leeds were witness to a four-week installation event. Overlooking The Headrow in the city centre, the former home of Leeds Youth Court was subject to the experimentation of eighteen visual artists.
Disinformation brought together artists working in painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, film, sound and video. Artists were given the opportunity to experiment and exhibit in unfamiliar space. The project sought new methods for a recontextualised art practice.
